Reading blogs since last two years, I have seen some of the spectacular blog posts but many of the out-of-control blog rantings…these blogs started with a good title & a very good starting line. But somewhere in middle they spun on to some small diversion & got busy in describing about their daily life details. This is a common viral symptom with most of the new bloggers. Blogging has become a global phenomenon, providing innumerable opportunities & platform to a common person, but one can easily get confounded with colossal knowledge blogging networks offer. There are no hardcore rules that blogging should be done in a particular way, any idea or thought can be blogged. Here are the most common blogging misconceptions:

Misconception No.1 # BLOG CONTENT SHOULD BE UNIQUE:

This is very desirable aspect in the blogging world but not a feasible one! Blogging has become risen at a stupendous pace, with 65 million blogs already present & over 175,000 new blogs created every day, it is almost impossible find a ‘UNIQUE’ popular Subject, not blogged by anyone else, except if you blog about your own life or any idea invented by yourself. But the main thing is, it is not necessary to be unique! You may blog about a common subject, say technology but you are posting your views or insights on a particular topic & that it makes it unique!

Misconception No.2 # NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT SEO TO BECOME FAMOUS:

SEO techniques have been most popular aspect in relation to a blog & have been used extensively to attract traffic. But it takes huge time & efforts to make a successfully optimized blog. SEO Techniques work best for professional blogs, but they are not a sure shot way of success.

I knew a friend who loved to blog & was quite popular in some communities. Once she came across SEO & decided to implement it, it worked fine until she started writing according SEO parameters, instead of writing in her usual interesting style. Her visitors grew wary of low quality content & stopped coming. Eventually she stopped blogging.

It is not necessary to implement SEO standards if you have a good style of writing. If you are jotting good quality content, visitors will automatically increase.

Misconception No.3 # NEED TO POST EVERYDAY.

While writing your blog, your first priority should be good content! Posting something good everyday may compel you to compromise on your content, instead writing 2-3 times a week will allow you ample time to think & draft new content. Blog Writing should be done as an interest & not as a daily chore! Writing everyday may also cause a writer to face blog burnout.

Let’s start from the basics, what exactly is blog content? In today’s world, content means information, something useful that can be applied in daily life. Blog content simply means information on your blog. A blog content can have various facets, it can be written to provide some specialized information or just to jot down the random thoughts churning in your mind. In short, blog content means content YOU want in your blog.

There is considerable difference between website content & blog content, website content is used for dispensing particular information where as a blog content gives a blogger’s perspective about certain information. Naturally, website content is a technical version & blog content is more personal or humane version, as you may call it.

Blog content differs from blog to blog as this variation is caused by the general theme of the blogs, writing style & writer’s attitude. This way, two blogs may be about same subject but will have very different content. This is the reason why blogging is so popular, there are millions of blogs on the internet & yet everybody has something unique to say.

If we analyze a certain blog, the Blog posts play the main part in blogging. A blog post has a certain format, but most importantly, blog content has a certain format or a way in which it should be written.

Blogs are becoming increasingly popular as each day passes, evidently due to ease in expressing emotions or conveying information. But the greatest advantage is the freedom of speech, the right to speak out your mind or share something unique. It is the content of a blog which makes it unique. A good content generates interest & thereby attracts crowds. There are millions of blogs on the internet (& growing…) with a spectrum of subjects & ideas.
